[PG] : Slight swearing
[PG-13] : >Small amount of swearing, more harsh

Ratings Guide (In depth)
[G] General Audience : All ages allowed to read. A G rating signifies that the fanfiction contains nothing most parents would consider offensive for even their youngest children to be reading. All G stories lack nudity, sex scenes, and scenes of drug use. Violence is only allowed in minimal, often humorous snippets. Some parts of the dialogue may go beyond polite conversation but only in a common and everyday manner.
[PG] Parental Guidance Suggested : Some material may not be suitable for young children. A PG rating signifies that the fanfiction may contain some material parents might not like to expose to their young children. Explicit sex scenes and scenes of drug use are still noticeably absent. Horror and violence do not exceed moderate levels.
[PG-13] Parental Guidance Strongly Cautioned : Some material may be inappropriate for children under the age of 13. A PG-13 rating signifies that the fanfiction may be inappropriate for pre-teens. Rough or persistent violence is absent along with sexually oriented nudity. However some drug use scenes are allowed along with a minimal amount of the harsher swearwords eg. fuck, cunt.
[R] Restricted - Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian : An R rating signifies that the rating board has concluded the film to contain an amount of purely adult material. This is usually assigned due to the fanfiction's frequent use of language, violence, sex or its portrayal of drug use.
[NC-17] No One 17 and Under Admitted : An NC-17 rating signifies that the rating board believes that most parents would feel that the film is patently adult and that children age 17 and under should not be admitted to see it. The film may contain explicit sex scenes, an accumulation of sexually-oriented language, or scenes of excessive violence. The NC-17 designation does not, however, signify that the rated film is obscene or pornographic.
